Madrid Es Noticia had a major problem with internal link-building and the content of their articles. They used content generated by a large agency that they automatically inserted into their medium. This caused infinite pagination and no differentiation between quality content and self-generated content.

We had to think of a global SEO strategy. Since we could not position specific keywords, the content was very changeable. For that, we had to provide the newspaper with more authority and a good On Page that would allow the new articles published to be positioned quickly. This was a major challenge as we encountered some Google penalties due to the amount of duplicate content and poor pagination.

After our research phase, we decided to remove the self-generated content, inserting only quality content, We also included a Sitemap and linked it to Google News, modified the pagination and used new categories to give more visibility to the higher quality articles. We cleaned up the internal linkbuilding and carried out a small external linkbuilding campaign to give more authority to the web. Today, we continue to do keyword searches to tell editors what content to write about.
